What is Carmarthen Together?

We are a group of local residents who gathered together with a common aim - to make our town a more resilient place.

Carmarthen Together is a community interest company (CIC) that was formed in April 2023.

Our aims are broad and ambitious but we believe that by collaborating with like-minded, local residents, businesses and organisations that we have the ability to achieve more.

The Crew

A little bit more about the people behind Carmarthen Together.

David Jenkins | Secretary

I'm retired. Once upon a time I was an academic studying land issues and sometimes a Christian minister. I live in Ferryside. I am married with 3 children and 3 grandchildren. Passionate about singing, walking and, it's true, I am a theology nerd.

Philip Hughes | Treasurer

Living in Llanllawddog, I'm a husband ,Dad and novice vegetable gardener. One of the organisers of Carmarthen Repair Cafe, cyclist and Treasurer of Carmarthen Together. Worried about the state of the planet but can see a more sustainable and circular economy, as the way forward.

Harriet Baggley | Director

I am a mother of two and we live in tiny home, a self-converted panel van. I love being outdoors and I feel like it does wonders for my well-being. I have recently opened a zero waste shop in town and love meeting people from the community.

Carrie Laxton | Director

I'm a mum of three and Grandmother of five and want to do everything I can to keep our world safe for them. I used to be a GP and acupuncturist. I am a keen gardener, potter, painter, singer, cook, walker swimmer and cyclist.

Susan Holmes | Chair

I live in Llangain with my husband, daughter, son-in-law and two small grandchildren plus numerous furry friends. I want our community to be safe, happy and thriving. I'm Clerk to our Community Council and I grow vegetables in every spare minute that I can find.

Tim Prince | Director

I'm a husband, Dad and Granfer who is currently renovating our home and experimenting with a range of environmentally friendly technologies to reduce its impact on the planet. I worry for the future but believe we can all make a difference.
